There are 8 Bagua areas of life that are approached with Feng Shui.  It is important to look at the color, elements, and shapes.

The Bagua areas in Feng Shui are Zhen, Xun, Tai Qi, Qian , Dui, Gen, Li, Kan, and Kun. By bringing the different elements, colors and shapes you can activate these energies to bring more of these different elements and energies into your home, workspace, etc.  Zhen can bring in new beginnings and more family life.  By bringing the colors listed in each of the Gua as well as elements, shapes, and directional placements it is taught that by doing so you will bring in more of that experience in your life.  By choosing elements, colors, shapes, and directional placements listed in Xun, it is thought at you can bring in more generosity, wealth, abundance, and self-worth.  Tai Qi is considered the center of the bagua which means it affects all aspects of your life.  It is the most connected to your overall health.  This is a great place to start if you are looking to make the biggest overall impact.  If feel you need more support focus on Qian.  This is also a good one to focus on if you would like to invite more travel into your life.  If you are wanting to have a child or be more playful and joyous it would help to focus on Dui.  Gen is what you would find most helpful if you are looking to improve your skills.  If you are looking to improve your reputation or inspiration it can be helpful to focus on Li energy.  If you are looking to focus on your career it can be helpful to focus on Kan energy.  If you are wanting to bring in and give more love to yourself and others you will want to focus more on Kun energy.
