Mercury officially stations retrograde on October 31, 2019, at 27° 38′ in Human Design Gate 14.4 at 11:41 am EDT. This is the gate of power skills and security. Human Design Gate 14 is a gate of blessings. This Mercury retrograde can help us overcome our fears and have blessings and opportunities come into our lives to create what brings us more security in life. Opportunities can come up during this time that we have been wanting to do for a while and now we are ready to move forward on. During this time we have the potential to feel a sense of security and safety with moving forward with someone we were scared to work with in the past.
When Mercury goes retrograde it gives us time to rethink and re-evaluate things. While Mercury is retrograde this is a great time to look back on patterns of the past and see where you may have patterns around giving away your power. When Mercury is in Scorpio we can give and give. This is a good time to see where you might be giving too much of yourself to others. It can also bring an awareness of where others are giving and supportive in relationships.
Venus went retrograde in October 2018 close to where Mercury is going retrograde in October 2019. As we start this Mercury retrograde the Sun will also be in Human Design Gate 44.1 close to where Venus started it’s retrograde in Human Design Gate 44.4 in October 2018. Think back to the choices you made with relationships in October 2018 and where you may have given more than you had to give or where someone potentially took advantage of your kindness. Human Design Gate 44 has the potential to team up with people who are not in their best interest. These are lessons from the past that can show us where we need to set boundaries or where we may not value ourselves enough. We have the potential for feeling undervalued for not setting good boundaries. This can also show where you can be more giving and considerate of others and appreciate the people in your life.
Mercury will travel through Human Design Gates 14, 43, 1, and back to 44.5.
While writing this article I contemplated the connection between the Venus Retrograde in 2018, the Mercury Retrograde that is happening in October 2019 and the Sun starting this Mercury retrograde transiting in Human Design Gate 44. There is a potential you may have teamed up with someone during the Venus Retrograde in 2018 that didn’t end the way you had hoped. You may have felt like you gave more than the other person did. This may bring up wounds for you around setting boundaries, valuing yourself and not overgiving. The great thing about Scorpio is that it is very passionate, driven and usually doesn’t give up. You may have hit some bumps in the road, but if you are passionate about your dreams you will succeed. This Mercury Retrograde has the potential to bring up a new awareness about yourself and patterns of the past. It can also help you see where a person you may have teamed up with also felt like they gave and gave and where they may have felt like their kindness was taken advantage of whether it be, ideas, services, friendships, relationships, business partnerships, etc. Astrology is an amazing gift and a wonderful tool to help us make the best choices possible.
During this Mercury Retrograde, you will be reviewing, re-evaluating, reconsider and rethinking a lot, but this is a very unique Mercury retrograde and it can bring great blessings and the potential to move forward and get unstuck.
