Traditionally in most nations, we celebrate the New Year on January 1st of each year, but with Human Design we celebrate it when the Sun enters Human Design Gate 41. Human Design Gate 41 is the Gate that is associated with fantasy and desire. This is a good time to dream about what you want for the future. It is a good time to really focus on what you desire for the coming year. When the Sun is in Gate 41 the Earth is also in Human Design Gate 31. Gate 31 is asking you where do you want to lead your life? This is a time when you can find practical solutions for the desires you truly want to accomplish for the year.
With this chart, you can see other influences. The other planetary placements in the chart at the time of the Human Design New Year also set the tone of the year to come on a global level.
As I am writing this article it is October 2022 and we are approaching 2023, so I will use the Human Design New Year chart for 2023, but you can see up to 8 years in the future when it comes to the Human Design New Year chart on Genetic Matrix.

It is helpful to contemplate each of the Human Design Gates that are transiting for the Human Design New Year chart. They will set the tone for the new year. For example, the South Node in the 2023 New Year chart is in Gate 44. The South Node is what we are letting go of and the North Node is what we are moving towards. Human Design Gate 24 can be having big realizations and Human Design Gate 44 can be letting go of past patterns or learning from them. Venus is in Gate 49.6 which can be asking us to look at who has been there for us and really cares about us or creating a revolution in your life. Mars is in Human Design Gate 16. This can be asking you what are you enthusiastic about? Are you doing what you love even though you don’t feel like you know enough? It’s time to jump into what you love. Jupiter is in Human Design Gate 17, so you may experience the opinions of others, and be more opinionated. Do you believe your opinion matters? This is a good time to let people have their own opinions and stick with what you feel is important to you, but be open to others opinions if they are helpful.
